eApps Hosting Converts to Simplified VPS Resource Allocations

eApps Hosting now uses the SLM (Service Level Management) approach to allocating resources in all VPS hosting plans. This is a significant change that is now available in SW Soft's Virtuozzo VPS system. SLM results in a resource allocation method that is not only easier for the user to understand but also ensures that the VPS service operates with the highest possible level of performance and reliability.

SLM simplifies the approach to allocating resources to each VPS plan. Prior to SLM, there were more than a dozen different parameters that defined the bounds of a VPS, including multiple memory parameters, limits for tcpip sockets, open files, and other resources. With SLM, in addition to disk space and data transfer, there are only two resource limits that define the size of the VPS – memory and CPU. This greatly simplifies the use of the VPS. Customers can now execute standard Linux commands such as Free and Top to see their allocated and used memory and CPU resources. Furthermore, the SLM method eliminates site crashes that result when tcpip sockets, # of processes, or other parameters were reached. Customers now only have to be concerned about whether they have enough memory and CPU power for their site.

Please note that SLM is not compatible with 'burst memory' that is advertised by other hosting providers that use Virtuozzo. SLM uses a single guaranteed memory allowance that is always available to the VPS. eApps Hosting believes that the SLM model provides the best, most reliable VPS hosting environment and is pleased to use it for all hosting plans.
