From the Customer Portal, you can upgrade or downgrade the resources allocated to your Virtual Server. Which resources are available to change varies by which hosting platform you are using: Virtual Cloud Server or Virtual Machine in the Cloud.
Virtual Cloud Server Hosting Platform
Virtual Machine in the Cloud Hosting Platform
With the Virtual Cloud Server Hosting Platform you can adjust the RAM, CPU (cores), Primary Disk (GB), IP Addresses, and Internal IPs.
Please be aware that changes to your resources will change how much you are billed for your service. Also, changes to the resources available to your Virtual Server will cause your VS to reboot before any of those changes are made. |
To upgrade or downgrade the resources for your Virtual Server, log in to the Customer Portal at http://portal.eapps.com. Click on My Cloud, and then the Virtual Servers link, and then click on the View link for the Virtual Server you wish to change the resources for - the small magnifying glass icon to the right of the Virtual Server listing.
On the Product Details screen, click on the green Upgrade/Downgrade Options button at the top or bottom of the screen.
This takes you to a screen where you can move sliders back and forth to change your resource allocations. Remember that making changes here will affect the amount of money that you pay for your service.
The Resources column shows the resources available to upgrade or downgrade, the Customize column shows the sliders that allow you to change the values for the Resources, the Existing column shows the current values for the resources on your Virtual Server, and the New column will show the new values you have chosen for the resources. The Change column will show you the adjusted price for the new resource allocations.
if you hover your cursor over the small i to the left of each Resource name, you will see additional information about that specific Resource. |
RAM (MB) - you can upgrade or downgrade the amount of RAM available to your Virtual Server in 256 MB increments, starting at 512 MB and increasing to 32 GB (32768 MB). Note that increasing or decreasing your RAM will also effect your CPU (cores).
CPU (cores) - this is the number of CPU core(s) that your Virtual Server can access. Note that increasing or decreasing CPU (cores) will also effect your RAM.
Primary Disk (GB) - you can increase or decrease the disk space available to the Virtual Server, from 8 GB to 750 GB. Linux servers with less than 4 GB of RAM will have 1 GB of the primary disk allocated for swap space, Linux servers with 4 GB or greater of RAM will have 2 GB of the primary disk allocated for swap space. Windows server will have no swap space allocation.
IP Addresses - the number of IP addresses allocated to the Virtual Server. You are limited to a total of 25 IP addresses. If you need more than 25 IP addresses, please contact eApps Sales.
Internal IPs - the number of internal IP addresses allocated to the Virtual Server. You are limited to a total of 100 internal IP addresses. If you need more than 100 internal IP addresses, please contact eApps Sales.
If you want to set the values back to their previous settings and start over, click on Reset to Existing Values.
Once you have made your choices for changing the resources on your Virtual Server, click on Click to Continue >>. This will take you to a screen where you can confirm the order and select your Payment Method.
