Upgrading from JBoss 4 - To upgrade from JBoss 4 you must first backup your application, uninstall JBoss 4, install JBoss 5 and redeploy your application. You can take the steps below to upgrade.
1. Log into your control panel. 2. From the system tab click JBoss-4. 3. Click Uninstall (The /opt/jboss4 directory will still be in the VPS after it uninstalled) 4. From the system tab click Add Application. 5. Select the check box next to JBoss-5 and click Update. The installation process will take a few minutes. After the installation you should see a JBoss-5 icon in the system tab Applications area. 6. Copy your application from /opt/jboss4/default/deploy to /opt/jboss5/default/deploy. If you uploaded additional libaries to /opt/jboss4/default/lib or /opt/jboss4/server/lib directories you must copy those over to /opt/jboss5/default/lib and /opt/jboss5/server/lib. Apply all server.xml and other xml configurations from JBoss 4 to JBoss 5. We recommend directly making the changes to the files in JBoss 5 xml instead of copying the xml files over from JBoss 4. 7. Restart JBoss and your application should be back online. If you encounter any problems please take a closer look at the official release notes for any changes that could be effecting your application. You can also look at the log file in /opt/jboss5/default/server.log.
