Updates - Point releases and patches are frequently issued by the providers of the operating system. Many of these releases must be implemented to fix security issues. Some updates are desirable because they improve performance or address compatibility issues. eApps will apply operating system updates as advised by the provider. Unless it is expected to impact customer applications, the updates will be applied without notification. There is no charge for operating system updates.

Upgrades - Major operating system version upgrades are treated differently because of the high likelihood that they will impact an application. Consequently, customers are responsible for migrating their files and data to the new version of the operating system. When a customer requests an upgrade to the new version, eApps will provide an environment containing the new version. The customer will then have to move all files and data to the new environment. Any assistance provided in transfering files and data or configuring the new environment for application specific purposes will be billable.

If eApps drops support for an old version, all customers will be notified that they have a set time period to verify that their application runs on the new version. If the version has reached End of Life according to the provider, the customer is responsible for moving all files and data to the new environment, and configuring and testing their application. If the version is being dropped by eApps, but has not reached End of Life, then the move will be performed by eApps or the customer at the customer's discretion. Please note that eApps takes no responsibility for errors or omissions resulting from eApps performed moves.
