Sun's latest J2SE 5.0 (formerly known
as Java 1.5) combines the functionality of the formerly separate JDK
and JRE. We have also adopted the new naming convention and version
number.
This document will
provide J2SE 5.0 release notes for all operating systems offered by
eApps. Please see the section specific to the operating system of your
subscription. To get the operating system of your subscription take the
steps below.
Log into your Control Panel > click My Account
tab > Subscriptions > click the Name of the subscription (with
type Virtuozzo Container)> the operating system is listed on the
Server section of the page.
CentOS 5 The latest version offered in CentOS 5 plans is 1.5.0_u22
How to Upgrade - Log into your Control Panel > click System Tab > All Applications > Java-SE-5 > Upgrade To Latest
CentOS 4 The
latest version offered in CentOS 4 plans is 1.5.0_u8. To take advantage
of the most current version, customers are encouraged to migrate to a
CentOS 5 plan. For migration details please send a request to support@eapps.com.
Changes in 1.5.0_u8 eApps Specific Notes - J2SE will

Login to your Control Panel and go to the System Tab
Click
on All Applications and uninstall both
the JDK and JRE.
Click on Add Application and install J2SE 5.0 update 8
Fedora Core
The
latest version offered in Fedora Core plans is 1.5.0_u5. To take advantage
of the most current version, customers are encouraged to migrate to a
CentOS 5 plan. For migration details please send a request to support@eapps.com.
